			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Over the next three months, implementation of the <strong>Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA)</strong>.  Since a bevy of changes are out on the horizon, the most immediate aspects of the National Health Care Reform bill influence <a href="http://www.ohiolifeandhealth.com/blog/2010/06/whats-the-2010-timeline-for-ohio-health-insurance-and-the-ppaca/">Ohio medical insurance</a> plans. Here is the timeline for the projected provisions and changes:</p>
<p><strong>June 2010</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Some small businesses will be able to qualify for a tax credit for specified Ohio health insurance related expenditures</li>
<li> On June 23td, a temporary high‐risk pool as well as a high‐cost union retiree reinsurance fund of  $5 billion goes into effect for the next three and a half years</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>July 2010</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Effective Jul 1<sup>st</sup>, Medicare reduces at hospital  (inpatient) psychiatric benefits</li>
<li>A 10 percent tax will be imposed  on the purchase of any indoor UV tanning session(s)</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>September 2010</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Another phase of the <strong>Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act</strong>  goes into effect on September 23<sup>rd</sup>, prohibiting any lifetime and annual benefit limitations</li>
<li>On the same date, Ohio medical insurance companies will no longer be able to cancel benefits for non‐group plans, This encompasses rescissions as well.</li>
<li>Parents can keep their children who are young adults  up to the age of 26  on their family, Ohio health insurance plan.</li>
<li>Additionally, Ohio health insurance companies will not be authorized to charge for any preventive care services.</li>
